April 2005 - The Overboys' Adventures
BACK
NEXT
April seems like a blur.  We spent many hours at home trying to get the boys rested - we had minimal success.  Our hours were full of the same ol' thing - playing trucks.
Andrew could not be more in love with his trucks, and more intent in keeping Adam from chewing on them.  Andrew makes it very clear that Adam needs to chew on baby
toys, not trucks.  When asked why Adam can't play with the trucks, Andrew responds with 'Adam is too little to play with trucks.'

One big change this month was that Andrew developed a fear of bugs.  This was not good for my plans to enjoy Spring outdoors.  All of a sudden Andrew did not want to
go outside because there are bugs outside.  He did not want to get near the sandbox because there are spiders in there.  Fortunately, we found some bug movies and toy
bugs and we began to make friends with bugs.  We were able to have a few moments outside with the bugs, when Andrew temporarily forgot that they surround him.

As for Adam, he continues to adjust to his new home and family.  He was very happy that Andrew was leery of outside because he does not like grass, or wind, or leaves, or
cement - which makes most journeys outside an adventure.  We certainly saw more smiles this month, and like to believe he is starting to feel at home.  His physical
progression is great, and he is always sitting (something he did not do last month).  He is definitely enjoying his new found strength and tries to tackle his big brother before
Andrew squirms away. He may also be happier because he had 2 hernias repaired - it has to feel better keeping his guts inside.
We spend many hours in the
basement playing trucks which
means I get lots of laundry done.
However, Andrew found a new way
to slow down the laundry process,
and Adam joined in the fun.
Adam was all smiles as we headed to the hospital for surgery.
He certainly didn't know what was about to happen.
Adam was much happier
once out of the dryer.
Andrew is certain he will be a fireman, garbage man,
or construction man when he grows up.

Tired from a long day of trucks
Andrew has already figured out that when Daddy
goes to work he spends all day looking at trucks.
Hence, Andrew loves to 'work'.
Before he was wheeled away, Adam was given a wonderful drug
that acts likes several glasses of wine.  Although he was not happy
at first after a few minutes he did not have a care in the world.
