March 2005 - The Overkids' Adventures
BACK
NEXT
March was an adventure in patience, as most days are with 2 kids.  However, in March we all passed around colds for weeks on end.  This is a very miserable
experience as all parents must know - for us it was one of many new joys of parenting 2 kids.  Having 2 kids has been anything but easy and we have
worked hard to have fun as we adjust to this chaotic life.  In the end it will take several months for this to feel normal, but in those rare moments of
normalcy the joy is certainly overwhelming and well worth the struggles.  So here is our chronicle of the first full month of 2 kids.
As we spend more time with Adam we are
getting to know him better.  He continues to
have a great giggle as we saw when we first
met him.  What we didn't see before was his
stubbornness and temper.  He knows what he
wants and cannot be deterred, and when he
can't have it he lets us all know.  One of his
favorite pastimes is teething on the armoire.
Here are his attempts to chew and what
happens when he doesn't get his way.
Attempt thwarted by Mom
One of the moments when it is very real that we
have 2 kids - as we head to church in our mini-van
wit the 2 boys buckled up.  Yes, this is the only time
the 2 are sitting still.  Unless, I leave them in the crib
for a few hours of entertainment.
Moving' in for a big chew
I wonder what he was thinking?
Love those legs
Adam is still wondering why Mom cut off all his
hair.  It was nothing other than too many
hours spent playing trucks in the basement,
and a shaver sitting really close by.
The boys at play has to be one of the greatest things
to watch.  Even if it means Andrew telling Adam  ('no
Aduuummm'), and Adam looking up admiringly at his
big brother and continuing to chase him.
With Hair
When we first tried to give Adam a bath he did not like it one bit.  Now we
have to work hard to get him out of the bath after 30 minutes.  It is great to
see him enjoy the water, especially knowing what he thought about it before.
Not very happy with Mom
Not very happy that he can't
chew on his car seat straps.
