We are still hopeful that we will bring Adam home in December, but there are several forces now working against us.  Our
agency told us yesterday, that there is a chance we won't go back to get Adam until January.  Frequently, in Russia the
attitude towards international adoptions changes, and that is happening now.  There are a number of official audits of the
adoption process going on, and this could delay the processing of all adoptions in progress.

We are very hopeful and prayerful that there will be a miracle and we will return to Moscow in December to bring our little boy
home. It was very sad news to hear that we may not be a family of 4 this Christmas, but we are doing our best to believe
there will be a miracle and that we will all be together either in Wilmington or Moscow.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we wait for news on when we can return.

p.s. Yes, it is official - William Thomas Overman's new name is Adam Thomas Overman.

The good news is that some adoptions are still being processed.  We remain hopeful
and prayerful that we may return to Moscow in December.  We check in with our
agency every week, and we will let everyone know what the status is this time next
week.

In the mean time we are working on his room.  His room is just a corner in the guest
room, but it will be a very cozy corner.
December 10th

Today Adam Thomas Overman turns 10 months old.  Happy Birthday Adam.  We are so sad that we are not with our little boy, and
even more sad because we just learned that all adoptions in Russia are shut down.  As of today, we have no idea when we will be able
to bring Adam home.  We will continue to hope and pray for a miracle, as we ride this roller coaster of adoption in Russia.

More Bad News ... A law has either passed or is in the process of being passed that could impact the entire adoption.  At this point, nothing is
definitive, but there is a chance that Adam could no longer be available for adoption.  We will have to wait and get final clarification from our
agency; however, they may have to wait on the Russian Courts to make a final ruling before we know anything.  Once again, we have no
idea when this will happen. In sum, things remain on hold, and they could be potentially changed for good - Ugh!

The bad news was not so bad, and I have to admit it was made worse by my small tendency to worry.  It is true that the database
requirements have been lengthened, and they could apply to our adoption.  The good news is that our wait, due to the database change,
should only be an additional 2 months.  The even better news is that we have almost completed that wait due to the temporary 'shut
down'.  In sum, we should not have to wait too much beyond whenever the government starts signing database release letters (the 'shut
down' is due to the government not signing these letters).

So we can go on hoping to get back in January or February.  January remains a very long shot, but we remain prayerful.  Many things can
happen, as we have experienced so I may take a break from checking message boards, and just spend the next 2 months sitting by the
phone waiting for our agency to call, and say we can go get our 2nd son.
