May 2005 - The Overboys' Adventures
May was especially uneventful because Daddy was traveling for the better part of the month. Fortunately we had nice weather most of the time, so we were able to get outside and get dirty. The other good news is that Adam has started to enjoy getting dirty with his big brother. Andrew continues to be a little weary of bugs, so Mom is frequently called him to give a spider the squash. As long as we can keep most bugs squashed and Adam is able to play with water everyone is pretty happy. Adam continues to make great progress, and has started to take a few very wobbly steps. The steps quickly turn into an all out lunge, and face plant. We are working on the fall to make this adventure in walking much less painful for everyone. He certainly is happy to be more vertical and continues to try and get up despite the frequent falls.
Adam really began to fall in love with outside when he discovered the hammock. He loves to swing, and the hammock is even better because he can crawl all around on it.
Adam also really discovered cars and trucks this month. He loves trucks that automatically move forward as he pushes them. He will play with them for hours on end, and they are good to chew on too.
One of the first smiles we saw while outside.
Discovering and inspecting the truck.
Adam's favorite monster truck. We take the truck to the park, and he will crawl and push until it is time to go home.
Taking a break from his truck to splash in the water table.
This was one of Adam's first attempts to stand on his knees. He was very proud of himself to be 'standing up'.
Adam's wonderfully goofy grin. When Adam gets real excited his face get all bunched up, and he looks super silly - and we love it.
The first game he learned - peekaboo
Hiding under the stool, and happy to have found a safe place from his big brother
