Introducing The Newest Overman
BACK
NEXT
We first got the crazy notion of adopting again in the Fall of 2003, it became a reality in the Summer of 2004.  August 10th we saw the face and heard the
giggle of the little boy we hope to adopt.  We got a wonderful surprise on November 9th, when the agency called and said we would leave on November
13th to meet him (we were not supposed to travel until January at the earliest).  With only 3 days notice, we frantically got ready to say bye to Andrew (I
get tears in my eyes when I write that) which is not going to be easy, and to get ready to fly go to Moscow to meet Andrew's little brother.  Yippee!!
The Process

The process for this adoption is quite different from before.  We will make 2 trips to Moscow.  This, our
first trip, will last about one week - we get home Friday, November 19th.

We will go back in the next month or 2, and officially adopt him, and bring him home.

On this trip we will meet him on Monday, November 15th, and file official papers in Moscow saying we
want to adopt him.  We will spend the rest of the week visiting him, seeing Moscow and adjusting to
the idea that we are going to have 2 kids real soon.

Our adoption agency apologized, but because we only had 3 days notice we had to stay in the more
expensive and very nice hotel on the Concierge level. This sounds like a considerable improvement
from the old, dirty apartment we called home in Kazakhstan.

I think this will make our adjustment to 2 kids and a foreign country much easier.  Hopefully, we won't
be too lulled by the free food and drinks at the hotel that we won't go see Red Square, but I must
admit the pool at the hotel looks very inviting.  As if this was not exciting enough, we fly through Paris
on our way to Moscow - I finally get to see the city again (even if it is just from the air).

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we make this journey.
The first picture we saw
The smiles we fell in love with.
Andrew's little brother was born on February 10th in Pushkina, Russia - just
outside Moscow.

24 hours before we leave we still have not decided what his name will be - so
for now he is Andrew's little brother.  We are open to all suggestions, since
we have been trying to come up with a name for months, and we are down
to the wir - we don't want to end up calling him Fred.
