Adam's Adventure Continues
February 15,2005 We had a great first evening with Adam, and boy was it easy. We thought he was going to take a nap when he fell asleep on our bed, but it would take 14 hours of sleep for him to begin to stir. We guess the excitement and changes were a little exhausting for him. Around 8am he got up, but never really seemed to wake up, and so 2 hours later he went back to bed. This picture explains what our first full day with Adam has been like. The pace of the day dramatically changed after the nap. We were sent to run around town and have more papers signed. Which means we spent hours in the car going nowhere. Trust me it was no fun.
February 16, 2005 We had a wonderfully lazy morning following a great night's sleep. So far we have been very blessed with 2 good night's sleep and good naps (when we haven't forced him intp the car during nap time). Adam certainly seems to have a very different approach to sleep than Andrew. With the TV on, the phone ringing, the door opening, and all sorts of conversation going on, Adam sleeps soundly. We find it a little hard to believe, and a refreshing change. On the other end of the spectrum, Adam is really struggling with the change. He seems to really be missing his familiar surroundings. We keep telling him, that the old place really wasn't that great, but he stills seems sad. The really hard part is that he is not eating. We really need your prayers because he needs to eat soon. He has only had juice in the last 48 hours, so we keep hoping for a change. Due to the lack of food and the hard time with the change, we have not had too many smiles. We did have a few more smiles today than yesterday, but they are too hard to catch on film. We only have picture of 'the stare'. You will also noticed that while at St. Basil's cathedral there is no Adam. I was ordered to leave Adam with our driver, as we quickly went to take pictures. Trust me, it was very quick because our driver had to drive several blocks with Adam laying down in the back seat and not in a car seat. It was not what I wanted to do, but not much is about what we want to do. After all our papers were signed, and we had free time, we asked to come back to the hotel versus spend more time in Moscow traffic. So we had a little play group with the other couple who we are traveling with, and it was good for everyone. Only 72 more hours and we will be back - we are counting the minutes.
