| September 29, 2009 Yes, we still hope our family grows, and we continue to wish for a child to join our family through adoption. We have talked to a friend at an adoption agency, whom we trust 100%, and he will let us know if a young child becomes available for adoption. At this point, he does not expect to hear anything until early 2010. He had thought we might be able to travel in late 2009 to adopt a child, but that did not happen. We hope and pray we hear good news early next year, but if not we will take comfort in knowing it was not meant to be. However, Meric being the eternal optimist is sure it will happen. I remain cautious and hopeful to guard my heart. Until then we pray for this little boy, as we wait to bring him home. December 3, 2009 Today we learned that we will not be able to adopt the little boy we had hoped to meet. This is the 2nd time our hearts have broken during our attempt to adopt a 3rd child. However, this time we are surprisingly at peace. We do wonder what it means, if anything at all. I recently read a book about God's Will, and although I would love a written letter from the Big Guy explicitly stating His will, the book reminded me that God's will is often a surprise. We are curious to see what surprise, if any, he has in store for us next. We are so lucky to have the kids we do have. If it is God's plan for us to adopt again, we believe it will be made clear. For now, we enjoy the anticipation of the holiday season and the 2 wonderful boys asleep upstairs. February 21, 2010 A lot has changed in the past 2 months. Here is the summary .... Jia Ling Lin is our daughter, at least, she will be some time later this year. In our hearts she is already part of us. Check out the blog for more information (brotherstrail.blogspot.com). |
