Update on March 20th

We are not going to have time to fix the links and pictures, because we are headed home.  After a stressful 48 hours of wondering if
Andrew's passport would be ready, it is now done, and we have his Visa - we are ready to travel.

We are a little anxious to travel given everything that is going on, but with prayers we will make it home safely, and very tired.  We
leave Almaty on Friday morning at 4am, and arrive in Philadelphia 24 hours later.  It should be a very interesting 24 hours.  It will
be made all the more interesting by the fact that Andrew does not like going to sleep lately - the plan aisles may get very worn out
with Mom's walking.  The adventure in parenting will continue once we get home and start adjusting to the new time zone.  It took at
least 10 days to get used to the 11 hour time difference when we arrived in Almaty- hopefully Andrew will adjust much more quickly!

Thanks to everyone for reading about our adventure it was fun to have a reason to come and write and share.  We will continue to
update about life as parents.  Thanks for your prayers and support.
Update on March 18th

Today (Tuesday) was supposed to be our day to visit the Doctor, we were called at about 10 and told
our appointment would move to 3:30, then we were called and told it would be tomorrow (Wednesday)
and our embassy visit is moved to Thursday.  We are very nervous as our flight home is Thursday
night/ Friday morning.  The couples that were here last week were delayed for a few days.  They said
that the delay was miserable and we would have to agree.  Kaz is a nice place and the people are very
helpful, but 'There's no place like home'.

We got a taste of home yesterday when we visited the Hyatt for lunch.  It was wonderful to be
someplace where we felt no shame about speaking only English, and letting the kids roam free (we had
lunch with the other couple - the Yoders).  If we don't get out on Friday, there is a good chance we
will be leaving the apartment and moving into the Hyatt so we can at least pretend we are closer to
home.  Yes, homesickness is setting in.

Andrew is doing great.  We think we have his schedule figured out.  Now all we have to do is get the
feeding down.  He won't turn down a spoon or bottle so we think he is hungry.  We think we forced a
bit to much down the 'cake hole' yesterday and he was fussy with tummy pains.  So when do they learn
to talk?   He slept through the night both Sunday and Monday nights, about 10 hours.  He moves
around a lot in his sleep.  But we are learning to sleep through his natural movements.

We are having trouble with the links and pictures, so we leave you today with only a picture of
Andrews's nightly ritual of fussing and refusing to let us put on his paajams.  We will try to fix the
links as soon as we can.
