The Journey Part 11 - Home

Update on March 25th - We are Home
Once again, sorry for the delay. The delay tells a story in itself - things are kind of crazy, but wonderful. Getting an 8
month old used to a new environment, and a new time zone apparently means very little free time for the parents - and very
little rest. Despite the dark circles under everyone's eyes we are doing great.
The flights home were interesting. The first flight was a big tease - we boarded, gave Andrew a bottle, and he proceeded
to sleep for the next 5 hours. The second flight was a dose of reality - we boarded, gave Andrew a bottle, and Andrew
proceeded to scream for the next 3 hours. We walked the aisles, we bounced up and down, we tried Tylenol, and then finally
Meric took Andrew to the bathroom, and 45 minutes later the 2 of them emerged with Andrew asleep. I am not exactly
sure what they did in the bathroom for 45 minutes, I am just really glad Andrew came back sleeping! He continued to sleep
off and on for the rest of the flight, but has slept very little since then.
It feels great to be home. It is great to have left with several feet of snow on the ground, and to return to early Spring.
After being in a city of gray - everything here seems so colorful and alive. It is great to see blue skies with no smog, to
be able to eat what we want, to speak english, to walk with the dog, to sleep in our own bed, to watch Bear in the Big Blue
House, and to just spend time getting to know Andrew in his new world.
Again, thanks to everyone for helping us through this journey. It has been great fun, and better than we ever could have
expected or dreamed. We will try to get some pictures posted, as soon as Andrew decideds to nap - no telling when that
will be.
