The Journey Part 9
I Just Love My New Family

An Acrobat in the Making
Update as of March 16th
Why did no one warn us about how tired we would be? We never knew that parenthood was really a
big test of patience and sleeplessness! We thought it would be all laughs, smiles, joy and love.
Well in the first 24 hours there was almost no sleep but there were many smiles - from Andrew
that is. The first night must have been about 30 hours long, since he did not sleep at all, and
neither did Mom. Fortunately, the second night was much better, and he has even blessed us with
a few naps today.
We have tried to venture each day to get some fresh air, and relieve ourselves or constant
chasing. We had lunch with another couple on Saturday, and they basically confirmed that the last
week here is the most stressful. Since we are only about 1 day into it, and Mom has already
started a countdown, we can confirm that nothing will feel better than getting off the airplane in
4 days and 8 hours.
Despite his parents' stress, Andrew is doing great. Considering he left the only home and people
he had ever known he is very happy and playful. He loves to stand, as seen below, and loves to
climb all over dad. He is a great eater when we feed him - we think the first night of no sleep
was due to starvation, so today we have fed him non-stop, and he is much happier and sleepier.
So that is life as parents ---
