The Journey Part 2

Update from Wednesday, March 5th
A little update on the logistics. We are staying in a two bedroom apartment on the fourth floor of what you might consider
a typical Russian apartment complex (big concrete building from the 40's). The thing that surprises us most is the heat.
It must be 90 degrees, we have noticed that the interest in warmth extends to the streets as well. Everybody wears big
coats and hats. They think we are a bit crazy for not wearing hats or big coats.
The babies in the baby house have so many clothes on that they are constantly sweating, we get hot just looking at them.
We are very impressed with the care the babies recieve and the facilities are very well kept. We have met three other
kids in Andrew's group (Group 5) and one of the little girls will be adopted tomorrow.
Today's visit started with Andrew having lunch. He appeared to like the oatmeal and some kind of brown mush, but he had no
interest in his formula. After his lunch we played for about an hour. We introduced him to his extended family (no offense
to any of you but he was most interested in the picture of his new dog). After looking at the photos he crawled circles
around us. He liked to crawl into Kathy's lap, which made mom very happy.
Stay tuned for more pictures tomorrow . . .
We are Here!!!
Where do we begin? We met our son this morning! Wow! It could not have been more perfect!
We are supposed to start the updates with the trip over, but we are so overwhelmed with how
perfect he is that he is ths only thing we can think about. Suffice to say the trip was easy, and
there were no problems. It is snowing here, so it feels just like home. And did we mention that our
son is just perfect?
We have a few pictures of the big meeting, and we will bring them back to the Internet cafe, so you
can see how cute he is. He has beautifcal blue eyes, amazingly long eye lashses, and a great smile. He
has a cold, so we only get to see him once a day until he feels better, and those 24 hours in-between
visits will seem like days. He really is wonderful - did we say that already?
Thanks again to everyone for your prayers - without them we wouldn't be in this wonderul place to
pick-up our son. Thank you!!!
