The Journey Part 8
Only one more day to freedom
|

March 14th Update
Well, today was the big day and what a day it was . . .
We got started at 9:30 and were officially parents by 3:00. The court procedure took about 10
minutes, after which we went to sign original copies of Andrew's (his official name as of the court
hearing) birth certificate. We were done with that by about 11:10. We ran a bunch of errands
between 11 and 2:00 at which point we headed to the Baby House to pick up our son. We met with the
Baby House folks at 2:30 and were on our way home, AS A FAMILY, at 3:01!!! What a joy this is. On
our way back to the apartment, we just had to stop and do some shopping so Mom could see if he was
going to be a Mama's boy. It appears as though I may be in trouble, he had lots of fun.
Once we were back at the apartment Andrew was all smiles and giggles. The first thing we did was
take off most of his clothes. They have them so bundled up that he could hardly move for the past two
weeks. He was very happy to play with his bare legs. He was full of energy until about 5:00 when we
started to put him down for a nap. He fussed with me and finally went to Kathy for the final few
minutes before sleep. He slept for about 45 minutes and was up and ready to go again. I was in
charge of him for a few minutes and managed to get the worlds worst Dad award. I let him fall on his
head twice and I think one of them left a mark. Between his yelling and Kathy's coaching I hope I
learned my lesson.
The last I saw him Mom was feeding him cereal and he seemed to be enjoying it. Kathy made me update
the site so she could feed him . . . the quickest way to a baby's heart is through his tummy.
We may not get the site updated for a few days until Andrew figures his schedule out. As soon as
things are calmer we'll let you know . . .
